and I have a land lord issue…?  so, when my roommates and i signed our lease we agreed to pay the electric bill and because he kept the bill in his name he would email us the amount each month. he never sent us the amount owed each month and 2 months before our lease is up he told us we owed him $1500 for the electric bill. we think he’s just trying to screw us out of our security deposit and as college students we dont have the extra cash on hand. do you think this is legal? should i fight it? he never held up his end of the agreement…, more

and Hello fellow tenants & even landlords!?  In brief, I live on the main floor of this house & pay 60% of the utilities.
My question: the landlord has the utility (heat & hydro) in his name ( I often requested to transfer it into my name) Is he legally obligated to give me a hard copy of the billings. He gives me hand written info. for the billings.
This is probably a no brainer but it’s been this way for over a year & finding it to be a pain in the ass. I’m so on top of my bills & not even sure if I trust him anymore for good reason.
