and I told my landlord that I would be moving out this weekend? a few days ago. I hadn’t given any previous notice, so I paid him full rent for the month of May, along with a letter that said I’d be moving out in the month of May, but didn’t give an exact date in the letter.
I found out my new place I’m moving to won’t be ready to move into this weekend as originally planned, as the previous tenant is waiting until the last minute to leave. I’ll be in my current apartment now for at least one more week, and the week after I move out will probably be spent cleaning up real nice.
Since I verbally told my landlord I’d be leaving this weekend, but paid the entire months rent, can he go in there next week with his key and start doing whatever he needs to do when a tenant leaves? And also, he can’t rent it out to a new tenant during May before I hand in the keys, can he?
I wanted to call him or go talk to him, but these next few weeks are going to be unbelievably busy and he’s hard to get a hold so I don’t have time to keep trying over and over again.
Thank you, more

and Landlord lied about Carpet being new Can our deposit be deducted? On the rental agreement, the manger checked the box for being “new” instead of clean. She said the carpet just got replaced and is brand new. When the cable guy came to install the cable; he had to rewire under the carpet. And he asked us did the manger tell you the carpet is new because it is very, very old. He said he used to be a carpenter, and if the manger told you that it was new, then she lied. SO now, I don’t even know if I can trust her words on anything. Can she use the carpet as an excused when we leave? Can She say the carpet was new so now we have to deduct from your deposit??, more
