Ok, I’m stressed to the max. I just had a baby (she’ll be two months on Monday) and went back to work last week. My husband got laid off of work a couple of months ago and was receiving unemployment and all of a sudden it stopped. He is supposed to be getting it for three more months. He has tried calling, but they say they are behind and they will call him back. No one is hiring where we live and he has looked EVERYWHERE and I am getting laid off for the summer this Friday coming. I work for a school district and am not eligible for unemployment because I have a guaranteed job. My rent is due on Friday and I do not have enough to pay it as well as PG&E. On top of that, I haven’t paid any credit cards due to lack of money and am getting harassed like crazy. I set up car washes for next weekend and am selling my computer. Any other ideas on ways to raise money fast? Oh and I can’t receive welfare because I have a guaranteed job., more

Problem with former apartment complex? My wife rented an apartment 3 years ago and we recently found out that a bill that we never received was sent to collections and then reported on her credit report. To explain, my wife moved out of her apartment in March of 06 and left her roommate there. Their lease ended in March and the roommate went month to month. About a month after their lease ended the roommate was evicted. She did not clean anything and moved out. The apartment complex took the deposit (which my wife payed) and then charged an additional $326. My wife is certain she signed off the lease but the apartments said they do not have any paperwork showing this. Since this bill was sent to collections and reported on my wife’s credit report it dropped her score 100 points. Our current apartment called for a rental verification and was sent one by the old apartments, not noting any owed money in April of 06. We called the old apartment and asked for an itemized bill (we never received one originally) and my wife’s name was not listed, her former roommate was. What should we do next to get this matter off my wife’s credit report? We believe she should not owe any money because she was not there at the time of eviction and was not responsible for the uncleanliness of the apartment in the first place. Sorry for the long post. Any help would be greatly appreciated., more
and How do I find out if a house I am going to rent is in foreclosure? I’ve been hearing a lot lately about renters getting screwed by the owner going into foreclosure. Does anyone know where I can check to be sure a house I am about to rent isn’t at risk of foreclosure in the near future?, more
