I just purchased a new condo as an REO and got no mail box key. I emailed the association manager and she said that I had to contact the Post Office to schedule an appointment to have the route carrier pop off the lock and put a new one on for me to get a new key. She told me to contact the local post office and gave me a phone number but it is someone’s cell phone – perhaps the postal carrier’s? I don’t want to leave a message if this person has nothing to do with my mail box.
I went down to the post office myself and requested a new key, they took my information and told me the key would be available the next day. When I came back they said the mail box was not under their jurisdiction and I should contact a private contractor to replace the mailbox lock.
I’m torn on what to do or who to contact because everyone is giving me different information. Anyone have any advice?, more
and Please read and help….. surprise drop in credit score due to confusing complaint from Verizon Fios.? My boyfriend is currently in the process of buying a house. His credit score used to be great (upper 700s) but the lender just called him to let him know that His credit score dropped because Verizon Fios put a complaint on him for not paying for the rental equipment. He said that he did get a letter from them a few months ago but he checked a box saying that he disagrees with the complaint and that he had not heard anything since then. Do we contact Verizon Fios directly? He thinks we have to go through the debt collection agency but that could take so long. The rental equipment was turned in sometime around October of 2008 (in case that is important).
He has evidence to prove that he canceled the account properly but he didn’t keep anything from the day he actually returned the equipment. But I was there with him so I know it was returned.
Please give us some advice on how we can handle this quickly. This couldn’t have happened at a worse time. Any honest advice would be very much appreciated and in the meantime I will try and surf around to find a number to call.
THANK YOU., more

and How does Obama's housing stimulus package work for me? My home was foreclosed upon. A month before the sheriff’s sale, the bank called me and asked if I wanted to keep my home. I was literally going to call them myself that week to check on that possibility. But they called me first.
Anyway, after supplying them with paperwork and such for about two months worth of time (they canceled the sheriff’s sale once we started talking) they approved me.
So now I’m on a “probationary period” for three months. During that time, my mortgage payment is actully about 60% of what my original payment was. Cool! After those three months are up, I will then go on a regular mortgage.
I don’t have all the details yet. And I don’t know what my payment will be after those three months. Should I expect it to be the same as the three months? Or should I expect it to go back to what it was on the original mortgage?
The bank did confirm that I was eligible for help under Obama’s housing stimulus plan. So I have that plan to thank for saving my house. But I’d still like to know how it works.
If my payment is going to be 60% for the remainder of the mortgage, does that mean the government paid for 40% of my home?
If the government didn’t pay for 40% of my home, then who gets the money from the stimulus package? And what is it earmarked for?
Does anyone know these answers?
Thanks!, more
