and we're getting married and trying to rent our first apartment- credit history help!? Hi,
my boyfriend and I are getting married in a few days and we’re currently applying for a lease on a local apartment. I have had a credit card for less than a year (I’ve always paid it off monthly), and he has never had one. Both of us intend to be on the lease and we can afford the place- (he makes about 1400/month, I make about 800/month, and rent is $700) but we are concerned because we have no large savings account and no real credit history. Should this be a problem? We have family members that are willing to cosign for us, but I’m worried. Is there anything we should do or know? We have to start somewhere, but so many things in our society are catch 22s… just like work experience. Any information or guidance would be wonderful, thank you!, more
Do apartments try to rip off tenants and make profits off of them before they move out? It seems like they need to make a profit if I am being told I am charged 250 for a bunch of scratches which can be painted over and 500 for carpet stains which could be vacuumed and a bunch of other petty sh*t. i would like to really know how much and how long this work takes and how much exactly the materials cost to do this before I accept charges like that. Also Id like to know where does the $20,000 in rent go that I paid living there for two years. In somebodys fat pocket? Where is the limit to greed?, more
