section 8 apartments question?

Posted by on Jun 22 | Real Estate Investing Chatter

I was forced to move back in w/ my parents last year bc i was pregnant unable to find a job and had no where else to stay. I went and got on the waiting list at the housing authority/section 8 office. I also went to a local apartment complex and applied there. Then a couple of weeks later I was sent a letter that I could not get an apartment there due to bad credit. Now a year later, my name has been pulled from the waiting list. I know this apartment complex accepts vouchers, so if I get vouchers could I possibly move in there or will my credit still be an issue even though i have vouchers, more

and What is the average price to rent a warehouse for a large crowd?  And if anyone knows how much it cost to run a convention center, or is it possible to rent a convention center? If so, how much? Thanks, people, more

and Short sale counter offer contract, original now void?  We put an offer on a short sale, full price. The sellers are now coming back with a counter contract-they want something else (they are already keeping the stove), haven’t received the counter contract yet so don’t know what else they want. The seller also said they won’t be able to sign the contract until Monday. Our original contract has a deadline tomorrow at noon. By them coming back with a counter contract, does this make our original contract void?, more

Help! My mortgage company claims they never got my insurance info and are trying to raise my payment by $1000?  I closed on my house in October. I had to have proof of homeowners insurance or I couldn’t close on my house. My insurance is supposed to be included in my escrow. For some reason, customer service had mailed me a letter about a month or so after I closed on the house telling me that they didn’t have my insurance info; I was annoyed and promptly faxed it to them again. I just got my escrow statement today b.c. they mailed it to my old address and they have my property tax down as $5100 a year and are trying to raise my monthly payments by $1000 a month. This new payment takes effect July 1! I can fax them over my proof of insurance showing it was effective 10/10/08, but I’m worried that they will tell me that I have to wait until next June when they do escrow adjustment again. This was not my mistake; it is theirs. I can’t afford to make a payment of an add’l $1000 next month. Please help!
I specifically referenced homeowners insurance. My property taxes are not the problem. It is their fault b.c. they never updated the records with my info the first 2 times!, more

and if you take care of a certain amount of land for over 19 years, could it be legally your land?  there is a section of our yard that is a “paper road,” no one ever uses it, and we are the only people who ever step foot on it. we have cut the grass (its all grass, no road exactly, just a piece of our yard) for over 19 years. we had an argument with our neighbor, because he ran a tractor carrying stones from one end to another. we are angry because if we were to cut the grass, and happen to fling a stone and at person and they were to get hurt, it would be our fault. could the land we have taken care of for years legally be ours?, more
