Are origination fees required in Missouri?

Posted by on Jul 03 | Real Estate Investing Chatter

The loan officer for my mortgage company says that they do not normally charge an origination fee for a home loan, but there was one on my GFE and when I asked about it, she said that I was in one of the 4 states that require an origination fee. I live in MO and will be staying there. Some other states she listed were MA and NY, I don’t remember the 4th one. The fee is $575, which is not bad, considering my loan is for $200k. She also told me that it would have been $1800 if I was in NY!
But I cannot find anything online that discusses any state requirements and was wondering if anyone else knows anything about this?
thanks in advance!, more

and MY LANDLORD DOESN'T SEND RECEIPTS!!!!?  I live with my boyfriend; we took over my mother’s apartment. He sends the landlord $100.00 every week in the mail for a $400.00/month rent. She used to come over and pick up the money in person, but she told us to send it through the mail instead, “i don’t care”.
We’ve been paying rent here now for a few months.
She doesn’t send any receipts back….
Is this illegal, i want to know before i call her and demand for her to start sending receipts….
I like to keep them, and sometimes, WE NEED THEM.
I want to have the law back me up before I call her sputtering and begging like an idiot….
THANKS,

and can wife just be added to the house title and not the morage?  the question here is can one add his wife to the title of the house and not the morage, the reason being we just got married and I got the house in my name only because of her poor credit, we would not have got the house if we both went for it together and I did it before we got married, but it is unfair to have her help me with all bills in the home and not be part owner., more

Inheritance coming, should I/could I rent to own?  We have an inheritance coming by the end of October, possibly as early as August. It will be enough to purchase a house outright with no financing needed.
We are looking at houses online to get an idea of what’s out there. Of course we see a couple that we like and the price is right.
Would homeowners be willing to rent to own for a few months until our funds come in? How could we go about asking or doing this?, more

and Are there any lenders out there still offering construction to perm loans?  I would like to build a home soon. Are there any lenders offering construction to perm loans in Florida?, more
