and When Should I start looking when buying a home? My husband and I are first time home buyers. We are both veterans and have been preapproved for the VA loan. We are now in lease until Feb 1 and are wondering when we should start the looking process. I would like to be out middle to end of Jan. After Feb first we could have a month to month term but I rather not. Any good first time home buyers websites or advice is very much appreciated Thank you!, more
and Florida Rental Law: Can a new property manager take over our security deposit & do a claim? We have been renting 11 months directly from the owner who lives in Canada (which we found was illegal in our county without a property manager). We had NUMBEROUS documented issues with maintenence, condition upon move in, etc. We gave notice that we are moving at lease end and were notified there will be a property manager when we leave who wants to do a security claim. I find this unfair as there was no initial pictures or report done when we moved in and she has no idea what condition the house was in. Not to mention we had to endure 11 months with no management and had to fend for ourselves in regards to repairs, etc. Is it even legal for her to do a security claim on the owner’s behalf at this point or have any control over where the money goes? and Is it legal to cut off water from tenant who don't pay rent? My grandmother have a tenant who hasn’t paid rent in the past 2 months. She went through the courts and had to pay her back rent on the 29th of June and still hasn’t paid anything. So the marshall are coming out soon. So in the mean time can her lights and water be cut off since my grandmother have to pay for these things?, more
