I’m a tenant and my flat has been without hot water for over a week. It’s taken a while to get a plumber in and we’re hoping to have hot water soon. What are my rights as a tenant and am I entitled to a rent reduction?
the landlord didn’t even reply at first. We were unable to get hold of the usual plumber to fix it. The water started again within a couple of days then went again – this time for over a week now. The second time we informed landlord they got back and asked us so contact the plumber. What would you suggest is a reasonable reduction in rent for the inconvenience?, more
and Small Sinkhole Discovered after House Purchase? We bought a house from a couple, the house is in a Midwestern state where sinkholes are not common (like in Florida). A couple of months after we noticed there is a small sinkhole in the front yard near the street. Evidently the sinkhole was fixed at time house was built 13 years ago, but over time it has slowly receded. The house inspection made no reference to a sinkhole, and the sellers did not disclose this. Do we have any legal rights against either the sellers or house inspector? Thanks in advance., more
and I have a home loan question please!? Okay so I was pre-approved for a FHA home loan. I am a first time home buyer and was unaware that opening a new line of credit would hurt my credit or my home loan process. i met with my lender yesterday and he told me just to write a letter explaining the situation and why i did what i did.
does anyone know what this type of letter is called (thought it was a Hardship letter at first but then found out that was for people in debt) …i want to write it in the correct format and make sure i include everything that’s needed. THANKS!, more
My house may be a fraudulent sale, Help!? We bought our house with the understanding that the garage may be illegal. We took all the steps to hold the seller liable, we held escrow money on her, she signed something saying that if we have to take down she’ll have to pay.
To make the long story short, we go to the zoning bored meeting for the garage and they said our house should be only 900 sq feet, but it’s 1800 square feet
we were shocked, my question is how did we close without the proper CO? We had a lawyer, title company, and went through all the right channels
I want to walk away from this house, but my husband and I are responsible people and don’t want to mess up our credit.
Can the town take the house? What are the consequences? can we dissolve the sale?
Please no making fun, I’m depressed enough about this, more
and Rural Development Loan on Short Sale? We have been told that asset managers who deal in short sales will be less likely to accept an offer that is relying on a rural development loan. At least, if the situation is competitive. Is this true?, more
