Me and my partner are currently renting(privately) in a very nice area. But we have to move as im pregnant with 3rd baby and our current house has no central heating. My partner pays the full rent and bills as im out of work. So money is tight.
We have been offered a council house in a not so nice area… but the rent is alot cheaper plus you have the right to buy.
We cannot rent with an estate agent as my partner failed the credit check.
Should we take it? I doubt we will get offered one again.. Is it worth the risk to hold out for a better area? Its just the area thats putting me off, more
and please give me tips about shares, for buying on monday? , more
and Private Rental, what can i do? I started renting a private property on September 25th 08 and have once before had my landlord receive complaints about my television being too loud. Now i have received a letter from him with him stating that a neighbour has complained about noise outside my house on the 27th June at 3:30am which consisted of arguing and swearing loudly in the street. I am furious! I have watched my every move since the last complaint as i have a 3yr old son and wouldn’t want to jeopardise his home. What options do i now have? I completely and utterly deny these recent complaints as i was woken myself by a disturbance but it didn’t last long. Basically this letter is warning of eviction, if there is one more incident i will be forced from the property. What can i do?
Many Thanks in Advance

and Renting a property from an agency but had a repossession company knocking…? Me & my partner are currently renting a property, we signed an agreement so that the landlord can not kick us out for the stated amount of time.
Last night we had a repossession Company knocking on the door asking if we was the property owners…they was unaware it was being rented out.
The couldn’t give us to much information as its a financial matter but he basically said that the owners are in financial difficulty, we asked if this meant the house was going to repossessed and he said he was unable to comment as it would be breach of contract from him job…fair enough.
I checked out the company online which is how i found out they are a UK National repossession company, and that the letter he served was step 1 of either repossession them taking over the mortgage (meaning we would have to pay them even tho they are out of town)
Me & my partner no longer want t live in the house giving the situation it is in at the moment plus the fact we have a 8 month old daughter so we want stability.
Basically what I want to know is due to the circumstances we have been put in are me in the right to move out if we serve notice even thou we signed an agreementt, as basically they haven’t kept they side of it by getting the house possibly repossessed within the next few months!
As i said we no longer wish to live in the house (it’s not exactly nice anyway!) So do we have the right to move out?, more
