Higher offer but 'no deal'?

Posted by on Jul 07 | Real Estate Investing Chatter

We offered $47,000 above list price for a house sold as a shortsale. Instead a cashoffer came in just above listprice and the sale was done in 3 days through a trust deed, and the new buyer will flip it and put it on the market immmediately after the sale for a $40,000 profit. Great deal for the invester/flipper. But why isn’t the bank interested in getting the highest offer and pocketing the $40,000 ‘profit’ on their already huge loss themselves?, more

and Can I use my current owned home as collateral on new home mortgage loan?  My wife and I live in a home legally donated to us by family. We have ownership. Can we use this home as collateral for a mortgage loan on another home in another state? If so, how does that work?, more

and landlord tenant question – what are the legal ramifications?  The manager where I have my office changed the locks on me so I could not move my things out – I was there with helpers to move – I had the police come and she opened the office, would not give me the key to it, then she moved half my stuff into the hallway – saying I had no rental agreement, which is a lie, because I did.
They can’t take my things and move them without legal permission can they? I moved it back but it cannot be locked.
They made me (with the police waiting) wait so long that my helpers left – so I couldn’t move the things out that day – so she took it upon herself to move my things out with no court order, no notice, just started moving them out. I stopped her by going in and standing in the doorway, she pushed her way in and told me to get out. The police came back and said she told them I had no rental agreement, so she lied to the police.
What should I do? My things are back in the office, but it’s unlocked and I have no key.
my agreement is memorialized in an email – I have been there a long time – trading work for rent was our last agreement, more
