and Can I still get the $8000 tax credit even if my new home isn't finished before 12/1/09? We are purchasing a newly-constructed home, and the builder says it should be ready by mid-November. One of the reasons we are buying is because of all of these tax credits, but what happens if there is a delay in construction and we don’t close escrow/get the key until after the cutoff date? Are we out of luck unless the program is renewed for 2010?, more
Has anyone received their stimulus check for new home buyers? I have been waiting over two months since I modified my 2008 tax return upon the purchase of a new home., more
and Is it appropriate to give my real estate agent a gift, and if so, what type of gift? I have an especially friendly and extra helpful real estate agent who makes herself available at all times, and has helped me with every step of the house hunting/closing process so far. She even helped me realize my rights to a Good Faith Estimate when my shady lender denied me one. My shady lender also tried to force me to buy a home in the high range, but my real estate agent actually recommended and showed me a home below what we qualified for that is beautiful. We will be closing soon, but I was wondering, is it appropriate to give her a gift after all is said and done?
I told my husband that maybe we should get her a Bath and Body Works gift set, but he said that would be too ‘personal’ and even offensive in a way.
