Has anyone used Gumtree Rent Safe program?

Is this a legit service? I am moving to London in a few weeks and the landlord wants to use this service. My concern is that I would have to send a deposit via Western Union to Gumtree (they are acting as third parties) without viewing the apartment first. This makes me a bit nervous since this is not typically how it is done in the US.

and How do apartments check credit scores?  My fiance and I are looking for an apartment, I found one that I absolutely love and we took home an application. While filling it out I discovered they do a credit check, I checked my score and its excellent at 740. My finace did the same and it’s not so great…below 600. Will they combine our scores or deny us because his credit is so low?, more 

have a contract for deed on trailer which states miss two payments the owners get back?  but doesnt say anything about who is responsible for lot rent. I gave my 30 day notice in the park where this trailer is located plus gave the owner and manager all the information on this trailer. So I was going to walk away from the trailer. Now I’m being told that I would be responsible for lot rent if they cant get ahold of the current owners. Is this true? Please help, more
