Short sublet while receiving a benefit?

Posted by on Jul 10 | Real Estate Investing Chatter

I am receiving a Housing and Council Tax benefit (which covers half of my rent). I went away to visit a friend and sublet my flat for 10 days for half price. If the benefits office finds out about this sublet, what could happen to me?
thanks

Can my landlord use my security deposit to cover back rent…?  I did the typical first apatment no no, I paid cash for my rent and didn’t always get a recipt. Now my landlord is saying that I owe him 975 dollars for two months when I didn’t pay my rent. (I did miss those months but I have been paying him back over the last five) He’s saying that I haven’t been over paying him these last months and he wants the $ asap. He’s charging me 880 for the missing rent plus 150 because he had to replace a toilet.
My question is this, one, as a renter am I obligated to pay for the replacement toilet, and two since I can’t take him to court over cash with no receipt can I tell him to take the 975 out of my security deposit?, more
