I want to add a VERY basic deck onto my house. It will not even be 20 inches off the ground. When I applied for a permit the building inspector told me that because my house is technically zoned as a Duplex, I have to have a Architect draw up the plans. I am the only owner, and the house is used as a single family. Can anyone give me a reason why I would have to pay for a architect? If it was a single family I wouldnt have to.
PS The house is in NJ

and How can I view the San Diego Notice of Default's (NOD) that are pending but not foreclosed on? I know that foreclosures get listed on MLS sporatically, but I am wondering if I can somehow look at this “Notice of Default” (NOD) that people are talking about and know what potential homes will be coming to the market soon? If someone has been served their papers then its just a matter of time before their home (highly likely) comes on the market, correct? Can anyone provide me any direct link to this? Is it available to the public (me)? Any help is appreciated. If you can be detailed and point me in the right spot that would really help as I obviously haven’t found what I am looking for., more

and Anyone know this real estate company? I saw their commercial before, and their logo was three letters (pretty sure an abbreviation for their name) inside of a house outline, with a blue background. I thought they were like IRA or something but maybe not, anyone know? Thanks, more
