How long does it take to check if you qualify to get a house loan?

My house has been on the market for months. My dad had to leave me and my mom because he’s with the military and had to be gone by a certain date. We couldn’t go with him because the house hasn’t sold. It’s been really hard for us to live because we’re having to pay bills for a house that we can barely afford, and support my Dad’s rent. Finally, this woman came yesterday and said she liked the house and needs to see if she qualifies for a loan. How long does it take for her to check? Please answer. I’m honestly desprate. I keep asking and asking the landlord a copy of our signed rental agreement but he still keeps forgetting and doesn’t give it to us. I don’t to keep asking and asking – why should I.
