No renters in my 2 condos for 2 months..should i walk away…?

Posted by on Jul 16 | Real Estate Investing Chatter

If anyone can tell me the best way out for me….I have 2 condos which r vacant since the last 2 months n no one wants to rent….have advertised in several places spent a lot of money but no one wants to rent even though the rent is great $550.00 per month w/no deposit in a great area. Anyway, I owe $82,000.00 per condo but right now they r selling for $30,000 to $35,000 (foreclosures) I have not paid my mortgage n HOA for 2 months since no money coming in….what should I do?, more

and when you buy a home, what are other things you need to pay beside mortgage and insurance (monthly)?  i am thinking about purchasing a condo or a home but i know that for condo all you have to pay is the mortgage, maintainance fee and tax but what about a home what else is the to consider beside the mortgage and tax?, more

and I want to find houses to rent in Huntsville Tx with acres of land where do i go to look?  , more

Apartment or House, which is better?  I’m trying to move out on my own for the first time, but I’m completely confused as to which type of home would be more “appropriate” for someone who’s just starting out on their own.
To me, size is not an issue at all. Neither is location. I’m only concerned with the quality (in terms of living conditions) of the home.
Comparing an apartment to a house, all things being equal (meaning equal size, equal conditions, same location), which one is the better choice economically speaking?
I’ve heard that even though you’ll have to pay more per month in rent with an apartment, that money includes utilities, and you wouldn’t need to pay property tax or insurance or any other fees associated with owning a home?
On the other hand, what about all of those houses that are on the market right now that are only a few hundred dollars or less? If I could find a cheap home like that with a LOW property tax, is there any chance that the house WOULDN’T need any work done (and would be liveable automatically)?
I’ve also been warned that a house is a risky purchase, because you have to keep paying taxes and stuff on it unless you can sell it off. Plus, what about when things break down? Does it cost a lot to fix on your own, as opposed to in an apartment, when the landlord is responsible for it?
So basically … I just want to know which would be the better choice economically. If I don’t care about size or location, only living conditions, which should I go with?
It seems like I could save a lot of money on rent by buying a house right now, but there’s also the risk for major repairs needed shortly after I purchase it.
Is the extra money spent towards rent worth the simplicity and flexibility of NOT actually OWNING a home?, more

and When you sign a contract to live in an apartment, does the lease start after you sign it or when you move in?  Another person and myself were supposed to move into an apartment this coming school year. However, she has decided not to come back to school. We have both signed the contract already and both have turned in a security deposit. It says in the lease that if any tenant leaves the rental unit during the lease period that they are still responsible for their half. However, since we haven’t moved in yet, does this mean she is free of all fees?, more
