can u get out of a mortgage contract because of flaws in the contract?

The morgage company had the wrong SSN for 3 years and i figured it out last year and we fixed it. I cant sell my house i dont want to be in the same area, someone told me you can get out of your mortgage scathed free if they are mistakes in contract. no short sales forcloseure etc. is it true, more
and I just bought two houses next to each other so i can knock them both down. one of the houses is bad and one is? Really nice and modern. i hate to waste a great house. what should i do?
