and How should i deal with the rats in the apartments?  Hello!
I have been living in a brand new apartments for exactly a year now (the first tenant to live there). Monthly i get charged for pest control. Few days ago i discovered a rat in my walk in closet, the rat happily continues reside in there (i”ve seen it several times as i opened the door). I was wondering if I can sue the apartment complex? or maybe ask them to pay back the charges for pest control that i have been paying? what can i do in this situation?, more

Help! Need cheap housing options?  My friend has just left her husband because of domestic violence. She has 3 boys, 10, 15, and 17 years old. She is permanently disabled and is on state assistance. Her social security has not been approved yet. In the mean time she and her boys are staying in a friend’s basement, but a permanent residence is needed. Apartments are too expensive. Does anyone have any other ideas???
Thanks for the “making more money” leads, but it’s housing that is needed ASAP. A few matresses in a basement is not a home., more

and Renter/Homeowner responsibility for pest control?  We’ve lived in our house for almost exactly a year now. For the last month our home has been OVERRUN with black ants! I’m talking all over the carpets, the counters, dishwasher, bathrooms, bedrooms, garage…everywhere!! We don’t ever leave food out and we clean all rooms regularly, these ants aren’t fining anything…but they won’t go away!! I’ve sprayed all around the house, the window sills, the baseboards, EVERYWHERE!!! In addition to this we get spiders often and black widows every now and then. Is our landlord responsible for the cost of a professional pest control service? I don’t believe the house was sprayed when we moved in, as I found and killed several black widows in and around the house before we moved in furniture. If you know, please tell me where I can look online at renters/homeowners rights and responsibilities, specifically on this issue. Thanks!
Oh ya, we in in California, Kern Co., more
