am I responsible for my ex's lease?

I got an apt. With my ex. We argued I left to cool off, we broke up and he told me to get my things before the 1st rent was even due so I asked him to go break the lease..he refused. I called the office she was rude and told me if he didn’t sign I was stuck. I ended up moving out of state tried to tell the leasing office, was hung up on even though I was not rude or vulgar in anyway. I’m not sure but my ex moved in his new gf I think and they were evicted. I didn’t get any notice until 7 months later when a debt collector called me to pay the fees. Since I was never served proper notice of eviction or notice to appear in court is this valid in indiana? They had my phone number and my parents address I’m not to hard to find. I also think maybe his gf might have signed for me so what happens then if she forged my sig. And I didn’t appear in court? I have proof my residency is out of state FAR from indiana so there’s no way I actually signed for the notices or the certified letter. He would not allow me to live there so I was improperly evicted by him as well so would I be responsible for this at all, exspecially assuming his new gf possibly signed for me keeping me from getting any notice at all?, more 

and Landlord Repair Responsibility?  My 4 roommates and I rented a house together. The house came with a fridge, dish washer, washer, dryer. 3 of us don’t live there yet, one does. The one living there attempted to use the washing machine and found it didn’t work. Is it the landlord’s responsibility to fix it?, more

and Does the $8,000 first time home buyers credit apply to trailers as well?  my boyfriend and I wanna buy a trailer for $20,000…. would the $8,000 tax credit still apply to us? can you give a reason or link as to why or why not?, more
